Job Description:

Your Impact:

The SKS Program Manager plays a crucial role in our organization, working closely with the Executive Director to oversee and manage day-of logistics for SKS clinics and programs. We seek an individual who is outgoing, detail-oriented, highly organized, and deeply inspired by the mission of SKS. This role also entails independently coordinating the operations necessary for the successful execution of adaptive clinics. The Program Manager will provide supervision and guidance to the Program Analyst, who is responsible for data gathering and program metrics. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, enjoys working with children and parents, maintains a positive demeanor, excels in multitasking, and communicates eloquently.

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of dedicated individuals, including the Program Analyst, by setting clear expectations, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Effectively allocate resources, including staff time and materials, to maximize the impact and efficiency of SKS programs and clinics.

Inclusivity and Communication:

  • Display open-mindedness when engaging with diverse stakeholders and possess excellent communication skills, particularly when interacting with families served by So Kids SOAR.

  • Show a natural ability to connect with children from various backgrounds.

Community Representation:

  • Demonstrate a track record of representing entire communities and effectively collaborating across diverse backgrounds.

  • Ensure active engagement and participation from various communities.

 

Event Management:

  • Exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills and adaptability in various situations.

  • Possess hands-on experience in planning and leading programs and events for groups ranging from 50 to 200 attendees.

  • Show meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing multiple events concurrently, including clinics and programs.

Program Management:

  • Effectively oversee events, supervise staff, and coordinate volunteers and sponsors.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with program points of contact (POCs) and sponsors.

  • Actively participate in programs to identify, nurture, and secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and related support.

  • Proficiently manage program budgets.

 

Marketing:

  • Develop comprehensive marketing plans for programs.

  • Create engaging marketing materials tailored to each program's unique needs and objectives.

​

Your Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

  • 2+ Years of Program Management Experience; demonstrated experience in program management, including planning, execution, and evaluation.

  • 2+ Years of Event Management Experience; proven track record in successfully organizing and managing events for groups of varying sizes.

  • 1+ Year of Working with People with Disabilities and/or Children; experience working directly with individuals with disabilities and/or children, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity.

  • Adaptability to a Fast-Paced Environment; ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial work environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for day-to-day tasks.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively convey information and engage stakeholders.

  • Experience working with databases is highly encouraged, as it will be beneficial for data management and reporting.

  • A genuine passion for and commitment to empowering young people, especially those with disabilities, to achieve their full potential.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and provide physical support for event setup and logistics.

These qualifications are essential for the SKS Program Manager role and reflect the diverse skill set and qualities required to effectively manage programs, events, and teams while serving the organization's mission of empowering young people, including those with disabilities.

 

Working Hours:

Option 1: Full-Time

  • Hours: 30 - 40 hours per week

  • Weekend Work: Work on the weekends when necessary

Option 2: Part-Time

  • Hours: 20 – 30 hours per week

  • Weekend Work: Work on the weekends when necessary

These two options provide flexibility for potential candidates, allowing them to choose a work arrangement that aligns with their availability and commitments while ensuring coverage for weekend work when required.

 

Compensation:

  • Full-Time: $40,000 annually (pre-tax), without benefits. Compensation may be negotiable for candidates with extensive

    program and event experience, commensurate with their previous experience.

  • Part-Time: Hourly compensation for the part-time position will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
